Sixty years of the same recipe: make it here, make it fresh.

Bagel Plaza opened in 1962, when a baker from Eastern Europe brought his traditional bagel recipes to Merrick - and the crowds followed. Today the Asatur family still makes everything on premises: bagels, bialys, challah, rugelach, salads and cream cheeses, several times a day, with no preservatives.

Between a 50th-anniversary renovation and 24 seasons sponsoring Merrick Little League, this has always been more than a bagel store - it's the neighborhood's morning ritual.
